Rachel Anderson, Jr., Southern Illinois (New Philadelphia, Ohio) took first the Redhawks Cross Country Invite hosted by Southeast Missouri. He battled regionally ranked #7 EIU helping lead the Sycamores to their first first-place finish as a team, men or women, since the 2014 MVC Championships. Conference team Murray State was also in competition in the field. Belmont finished with top seven runners in the top 25 of the field. Belmont faced regionally ranked #6 Vanderbilt and #7 Lipscomb, as Vanderkolk bested five Vanderbilt runners among top 15 finishers of the race.

Belmont also took home the top five spots of the race with all runners finishing in the top 20 of a field of 44. Vanderkolk took home the individual champion title in the Men’s 5k with a time of 15:17.72, now leading the Missouri Valley in the Men’s 5K.
